Welcome to this essential safeguarding training course, designed specifically for all staff working within education and children’s settings. Whether you are a teacher, tutor, administrator, support staff, volunteer or member of the leadership team you have a vital, statutory duty to keep children safe.

This course has been fully updated and aligned with the three most current and authoritative statutory guidance frameworks in the UK:

  • Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2026, effective from 1 September 2026.
  • Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026, effective from 18 March 2026.
  • Information Sharing Duty 2026 (s16LA), effective from 30 September 2026.

These documents are not optional, they are statutory guidance, meaning you must have regard to them in everything you do.

Modules:

Module 1: Foundations - legal frameworks & principles

Module 2: Recognising concerns & responding appropriately

Module 3: Information sharing, recording & multi-agency working

Module 4: Embedding culture, oversight & continuous improvement

Module 5: The Changing Face of Safeguarding (AI, digital safety, misinformation, misogyny)

Why This Course Matters

Safeguarding is everyone’s business. A safe, nurturing environment is the foundation of every child’s education, wellbeing and future. The 2026 guidance updates place stronger emphasis on early action, proactive information sharing, modern risks such as online harm and exploitation, and building a culture where no concern is too small to report.

Crucially, the new Information Sharing Duty means you no longer need to wait for a concern to reach a serious threshold before sharing you are legally required to pass relevant information on where it could help keep a child safe. Consent is not a barrier to safeguarding.

What You Will Learn

  • Apply the Information Sharing Duty 2026 in your daily practice, knowing when and how to share without consent.
