Child Protection Awareness Online Course

This short e-learning programme is designed for anyone who comes into contact with children through their work or leisure activities and aims to provide a practical awareness of the issues relating to the protection of children. Formerly known as the Level 1 course.
This Introduction to Child Protection Awareness / Safeguarding Children course provides a thorough overview of your child protection responsibilities to help you feel more confident in recognising the signs of child abuse, reporting your concerns, and ensuring that the welfare of children remains at the central focus of your work activities.
Safeguarding children is a responsibility of all professions and so this training course is suitable for anybody required to take training as part of their role. It is a requirement for all those working with children and/or their families to have knowledge of how to safeguard children and by taking this training course you will fulfil that obligation.
This course is written at an introductory level and so no previous knowledge is required. The course is also suitable for workers of all levels, including managers, supervisors, full-time staff, part-time staff, and volunteers.
This Online Course is broken down into four modules:
Module 1: What is Child Abuse
Module 2: Signs and indicators of abuse
Module 3: What to do if you have concerns / reporting abuse.
Module 4: Guidance and Good Practice
Assessment Method
After completing each module there will be a quiz to assess your learning. You will move through the later modules upon successful completion of the quiz test. This process continues till the end of the course. You need to achieve and overall score of 70% correct answers to pass this online course.
